Our Turnkey Process
With the Plug & Bim method you save on costs and time!
Project start-up
In this phase, Plug and BIM schedules the project and initiates the first preparations to ensure efficient execution. It is essential that the customer provides the required technical documentation during this phase.
The customer is expected to deliver the following:
- A final E-layout clearly indicating: The type and height of switching materials and other equipment (including IP rating / surface-mounted or flush-mounted). And Layout of circuit numbers and switch codes
- An installation schedule specifying which parts will be pluggable and which will be conventional (including power per phase)
- A fully completed project form
- Drawings in IFC or RFA format
- A demarcation list stating which components are/are not to be supplied
These documents must be submitted for approval by the customer. Only after approval of all components can the project be further prepared for execution.
Based on this information, a clear cost estimate can also be made by the customer.
engineering phase
Work preparation
In this phase, detailed preparation is carried out to ensure smooth project execution.

Review of technical documents
Plug and BIM performs an additional check of the E-drawings in combination with the project form. Any discrepancies are discussed with the customer’s project manager and, if necessary, the estimate is adjusted.

Coordination with the end customer
Together with the end customer and the customer’s project manager, the cable routing and technical feasibility in relation to the type of construction are discussed.

Logistics plan
(If desired, in coordination with the customer’s project manager). A plan is drawn up for logistical flows, ensuring that all components are delivered directly to the correct location on-site. A plan is drawn up for logistical flows, ensuring that all components are delivered directly to the correct location on-site.

3D model and customer review
Components are inserted into a 3D model, followed by a review session with the customer to align component positions with the structural elements of the project.
Routing of Cable trays
In this phase, Plug and BIM maps all cabling in detail within the 3D model, forming a crucial step toward error-free and efficient execution.

3D routing of cables
All cables are precisely mapped in the model, including distributors, splitters, and connectors. This provides a complete and visual overview of the pluggable installation.

Component area coding
All walls and ceilings are pre-coded with unique identifiers. This enables logistical subdivision into manageable construction segments, significantly simplifying preparation and assembly.

Model-based coding
All cables and components (such as switches) are assigned the correct codes. The 3D model immediately shows the type and exact location of each item in the project.
Internal Review and Customer Review
In this phase, Plug and BIM ensures the quality and customer alignment of the provided drawings.

Internal Review
Plug and BIM conducts a thorough internal quality check of the complete 3D drawings, verifying that all elements are technically correct and aligned with customer requirements.

Customer review
A joint review session is held with the end customer, where the model is reviewed together, and any points of attention are discussed.

Interactive process
If improvements are identified, they are incorporated into the model. The review process is repeated until all parties approve the content and quality of the drawing set.
Printing of Engineering Sheets and Details
In this phase, all technical data is converted into executable documents and material lists. This phase bridges digital engineering and the physical preparation for production and delivery.

2D Engineering sheets
Based on the 3D model, detailed 2D engineering sheets are generated and carefully checked for consistency and technical accuracy.

Bill of materials in Excel
A complete bill of materials is exported to an Excel file. A manual conversion is then performed, where universal article numbers are translated into the specific configuration of switching materials, tailored to the project and customer preferences.
project finalization
In the final phase, Plug and BIM ensures a complete handover of all project information to the customer, so that the next steps can proceed.

Handover to customer's project manager
All relevant documents — including engineering sheets, bill of materials, and 3D/2D drawings — are handed over to the customer’s project manager. This forms the basis for production and delivery.

Production and delivery planning
With the received data, the customer can plan the production and delivery timelines.

Final coordination with end customer
It is then the customer’s responsibility to finalize the delivery schedule with the end customer, ensuring everything is delivered on time and as agreed to the correct location.
