Project
start-up

In this phase, Plug and BIM plans the project and starts the initial preparations to ensure efficient execution. For this, it is essential that all necessary technical documentation is provided.

The following information is required for this:
• A final E-layout with clear indication of the type and height of switchgear and other equipment (including IP classification and surface-mounted/recessed), as well as the layout of circuit numbers and switching codes.
• An installation diagram indicating which components are pluggable and which are conventional, including the power per phase.
• A fully completed project form.
• Drawings in IFC or RFA format.
• A demarcation list specifying which components are or are not supplied.

These documents are submitted for approval. Preparations for execution can only continue after full approval.

In addition, this information forms the basis for drawing up a clear and substantiated cost estimate.

In this phase, detailed preparations take place to ensure smooth project execution.

Review of technical documents

Plug and BIM performs an additional check on the E-drawings in combination with the project form. Any deviations or ambiguities are discussed with the project manager involved. If necessary, the price quote is adjusted based on the latest data.

Technical coordination

In consultation with the responsible project management, the cable routing and technical feasibility are discussed, with attention to the type of construction and the practical implementation on location.

Logistics plan

If desired, a logistics plan is drawn up in collaboration with the responsible project manager. This plan ensures that all components are delivered just-in-time and at the right place on the construction site, to support smooth assembly and minimal interruption of the construction process.

3D model and customer review

All components are positioned in a 3D model, after which an assessment session takes place with the involved project partners. During this session the placement of the components is aligned with the structural elements of the project, so that technical feasibility and practical implementation are guaranteed.

Coordinate cable route

In this phase, Plug and BIM maps the complete cabling and cable duct route in detail within the 3D model. This step is essential to prevent clashes with other disciplines and forms the basis for a flawless, efficient and well-prepared execution on location.

Modeling cable route

All cables are accurately modelled in 3D, including distributors, splitters and connectors. This results in a complete and visual overview of the pluggable installation, which provides optimum insight into both feasibility and material planning.

Coded building segments

All walls and ceilings are provided with unique identification codes in advance. This coding makes it possible to divide the project logistically into clear and manageable construction segments. This considerably simplifies and accelerates both the preparation and the assembly on site.

Coding

All cables and components, such as switches, sockets and distributors, are provided with the correct coding in the 3D model. This makes it immediately visible which type of component is used at which exact location. This model-based approach increases accuracy, accelerates assembly and supports error-free execution on the construction site.

Internal and external assessment

In this phase, Plug and BIM guarantees the quality of the supplied drawings by means of an internal check and a joint assessment with the project partners. In this way, it is guaranteed that the model meets the technical requirements and expectations, and is fully aligned with the implementation practice.

Internal Review

Plug and BIM performs a thorough internal quality control on the complete 3D model. This checks whether all elements are technically correct, consistently modeled and meet the project requirements and predefined specifications.

Revision with client

A joint review session is held with the involved end user and project partners, during which the model is reviewed and any points of attention are discussed. This step ensures transparency and coordination before implementation starts.

Interactive process

If improvements are identified during the assessment, they are immediately incorporated into the model. The assessment process is repeated until all parties involved agree on the content and quality of the drawing set. This iterative approach ensures a high level of accuracy and feasibility.

Printing of Engineering Sheets and Details

In this phase, all technical data is translated into executable documents, such as detailed drawings, bills of materials and technical sheets. This forms the link between digital engineering and the physical preparation for production, assembly and delivery.

2D Engineering sheets

Based on the 3D model, detailed 2D technical drawings are generated and carefully checked for consistency and technical accuracy.

Material List in Excel

A complete list of materials and cables is exported to an Excel file. A manual conversion is then performed, translating universal article numbers into the specific configuration of switchgear, tailored to the project and the prevailing preferences.

In the final phase, Plug and BIM ensures complete transfer of all project information to the customer, so that the next steps can be continued.

Handover

All relevant documents, including technical specifications, list of materials and 3D and 2D drawings are transferred to the parties involved. This transfer forms the basis for streamlined production and on-time delivery.

Production and delivery planning

Based on the data received, production and delivery planning can be drawn up so that production and logistics run efficiently and according to schedule.

Final coordination with end customer

It is then the responsibility of the client to coordinate the delivery schedule with the end user, so that all materials are delivered to the correct location on time and as agreed.
