Smart Electrical Design for Modular Living In Asten Loverbosch, a new and sustainable neighborhood is taking shape — one that brings together affordability, flexibility, and future-ready construction. Developed in collaboration with Van Wanrooij and Homes Factory, the project includes 10 single-story homes, 32 two-story homes, and 25 three-bedroom rental apartments, all designed to provide comfortable and energy-efficient living for diverse residents. The apartments, built by Homes Factory, use a prefabricated timber-frame construction (HSB) method. This fast and sustainable approach allows the modules to be fully assembled in the factory and installed on-site within just a week — reducing disruption, improving quality control, and lowering CO₂ emissions. The modular structure even allows for relocation or reuse in the future, reflecting a truly circular construction mindset. At Plug and BIM, we are proud to support this project by designing the complete 3D electrical installation for both blocks including 25 apartments, common areas, external areas and storages. Our work focuses on creating an installation that perfectly fits modular construction principles — precise, efficient, and easy to assemble on site. For this project, we also introduced a new innovation: labeled components and cables within the 3D model, improving clarity and visualization for installers. With just an iPad, teams can now explore the full model, easily identify components, and follow the electrical layout step by step. This advancement enhances both accuracy and efficiency, reducing installation time and minimizing errors on site. This collaboration with Homes Factory once again demonstrates how technology and design innovation can go hand in hand to deliver smarter, faster, and more sustainable housing solutions.
